Hatchet 3: Hatchet 3 Horror Film is the third installment of the Hatchet film series. It is a follow-up to the murderous adventures of Victor Crowley through Louisiana's Honey Island Swamp. Kane Hodder portrays Victor Crowley while Brian Quinn plays Deputy Winslow. Rileah Vanbilt plays Misty.



The use of special effects is the primary feature of the film. Hatchet 3 is a horror film that employs CG effects in a lesser degree than other films. Hatchet 3 has a number of makeup effects that are practical and sets that result in some truly terrifying scenes throughout the film.

The cast delivers a strong performance with Kane Hodder being the most terrifying villain. The dialogue (blog post) is hilarious and clever enough to make it seem like an 80s slasher film. There are moments of humor in the movie that add humor to all bloody action.

Unfortunately, due to the budget being small (1 million dollars), many locations were duplicates of previous films. Hatchet 2's boat house was used only once, and the remainder of the footage seems like it's been reused from previous films. Hatchet or Hatchet2 may feel it's a familiar film.

Overall, I was impressed by Hatchet 3 even though it felt very similar to prior installments in the series. It also offered plenty of gory thrills and entertaining performances from its cast members.
